New addition towers in the city

Tower cranes fill the Brisbane skyline these days, but one of the more recent additions is the orange Liebherr 290 HC tower crane installed behind the former Executive Building Annexe.

The tower crane sits 90 metres high, has a 60 metre lifting radius, and can lift up to 12 tonne in any one movement.

This new addition will assist with many key tasks over the next few months including the decommissioning and removal of mechanical plant on the top of the Executive Building roof that has serviced the building for more than 46 years.

The tower crane will also be used to move small mobile equipment onto and off the roof, assist with removal of windows, removal of the precast façade and to erect scaffold.

At this stage, the tower crane is expected to remain in place until late July 2017.
