Temporary gantry to be installed on Bicentennial Bikeway near The Landing area

A temporary gantry to be installed as a safety measure for when the bridge deck section is lifted in over the Riverside Expressway.

When:

Night works: The gantry will be installed between 7:00pm Tuesday 15 June 2021 and 4:30am Wednesday 16 June 2021.

The gantry will remain in position until its dismantling operations planned to occur between 7:00pm Sunday 20 June and 4:30am Monday 21 June 2021.  

Where:

The gantry will be installed along the Bicentennial Bikeway, beneath the Riverside Expressway and alongside the construction fence that partitions the future public realm known as The Landing (see attached map).

What to expect:

The gantry will be approximately 14m long, 3m clear height, spanning the width of the bikeway.  Lights will be installed to ensure safe access through the gantry both day and night.

During the installation and dismantling operations, pedestrians and cyclist may be temporarily held for safety reasons while overhead works occur. Where possible, this will be kept to a minimum and will occur during quiet periods overnight.
